Corporate-community partnerships took center stage this week as Delta Corporation officially handed over a fully constructed classroom block, complete with modern furniture and ablution facilities, to Sanya Primary School.
Prior to this intervention, the school faced critical infrastructure shortages, forcing educators to conduct lessons under trees or utilize the strenuous “hot-seating” system. Furthermore, inadequate sanitation facilities posed a severe health risk to the growing student population.
Through its robust Corporate Social Responsibility program, Delta Corporation constructed a standard two-classroom block, provided 80 desks and chairs, and built modern, gender-segregated toilets.
“Education is the bedrock of sustainable community development,” a Delta Corporation representative noted during the ribbon-cutting. “By providing a safe, dignified learning environment and proper sanitation, we are investing directly in the future leaders of Mashonaland Central.”
The Muzarabani RDC leadership commended Delta Corporation for complementing the government’s efforts in upgrading rural educational infrastructure. The new facilities will immediately reduce classroom congestion, improve hygiene standards, and provide a weather-proof environment for students ahead of the upcoming examination season.
