The Muzarabani Rural District Council successfully positioned itself as Zimbabwe’s most promising investment frontier at the 2026 Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF) in Bulawayo.
Exhibiting under the national theme of innovation and industrialization, the MRDC stand drew massive crowds, including foreign delegates, energy sector executives, and agro-processing investors. The district’s showcase was anchored by the historic Mukuyu oil and gas exploration project, highlighting the immense downstream opportunities available in logistics, real estate, and heavy industry zoning.
Beyond energy, the Council aggressively marketed its rich agricultural portfolio. Muzarabani remains a national leader in the production of drought-resistant cash crops such as cotton, sesame, and sorghum. Investors were presented with ready-to-develop commercial stands dedicated to agro-processing plants and textile manufacturing, designed to add value to raw materials before they leave the district.
The tourism desk also garnered significant attention, spotlighting the Mavhuradonha Wilderness—a 600-square-kilometer pristine ecological zone ripe for eco-tourism lodges, hiking safaris, and conservation partnerships.
“Our presence at ZITF 2026 sends a clear message: Muzarabani is open for business,” reported the Council’s Planning and Economic Development unit. “We are no longer just a rural outpost; we are an energy, agricultural, and tourism hub ready to facilitate high-yield investments.”
